Darling Diva The Hot Chik over Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Grey Area

I've been obsessing over this mani for a while now.....

About 2 weeks ago, I was searching for "Enchanted Polish Flamingo Freckles" and came across THIS blog post on Pointless Cafe. Although I will probably never own that particular polish, I kept thinking about a grey creme mani with hot pink matte glitter. It would be a lot different than the Enchanted polish...more large glitter and more shapes as well. So I asked for recommendations from some online nail friends, and quite a few told me to check out Darling Diva Polish's The Hot Chik. It was the closest I'd seen to what I had envisioned.....so one Etsy checkout later, it was on its way to me.

I started with 2 coats of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Grey Area. This would be a one coat wonder with the right application.

Next, one coat(while dabbing the larger glitters in place with the brush) of The Hot Chik.
The clear base is a little on the thick side, but nothing unmanageable.

The blue shimmer really popped against the dark grey.

This wasn't 100% what I had in mind, but I still love the outcome! It was a bright, fun mani, and I am going to love trying this hot pink over different colors!

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear is available at most retail or drug stores.
